Schreiber-Bogen Card modeling, Wright-Flyer
The Wright-Flyer I, which correponds to the Schreiber model, was built in 1903 by the brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright and is considered the first powered aircraft. It was 6.43 m long, had a wingspan of 12.29 m and a total weight of about 340 kg. The Flyer I was powered by a four-cylinder gasoline engine, which the Wrights had developed themselves. It was water cooled and made 12 PS. Two pusher propellers had a diameter of 2.59 m each. The machine reached a maximum speed of 48 km/h.
The brothers Wright lived and worked in Dayton (Ohio). Their test flights, in which they alternately steered their models, took place in Kitty Hawk (North Carolina).
