Magirus-Deutz TLF 16 Firetruck

In the 1950s and 1960s Magirus-Deutz was a great name in the commercial vehicle sector in Germany. Originated from the Magirus firefighter factory in Ulm, Germany, the company was also the market leader in the field of fire-fighting vehicles in Germany and Europe. In the 1950s, Magirus brought important innovations in fire fighting technology: with 52 meters the world's tallest ladder, the first set-up truck with a rotating crane, or the first fully hydraulically moving ladder.
If the company was the second-largest German commercial vehicle manufacturer in time, it experienced a crisis in the 1970s. As a result, Magirus started up in the IVECO Group, which belonged first and foremost to the Fiat Group. Characteristic for Magirus were the air-cooled engines and the trademark, which shows a stylized Ulm minster and at the same time an M.
