Au Sabot Pocket Knife La Suisse, Brass Handle, Carbon Steel, 19cm
The Swiss-style knives, also known as "Sujet", existed in the 17th century.
Initially made with ivory and bone, they were only accessible to wealthy people.
This gave rise to the idea of using brass, which was imprinted with bronze models.
These motifs depict scenes from everyday life, such as, Ballsport and athletics in this model.
The knives are rustic in their nature and extremely flat.
As traditionally customary, the blade is still forged from fine-grained carbon steel.
Each region has its own knives, but Thiers, the capital of the cutlery, has been and remains a preferred manufacturer for over a century.
"Au Sabot" has been a highlight of this tradition since 1870 and brings a unique quality with knowledge and complete manual work into all areas of production.
